WELCOME TO THE MAY 2CH NEWSLETTER
Welcome to the May edition of our 2CH email newsletter.
Many of you have noticed recent changes to our music. We've been genuinely encouraged by your response and especially by your use of the email tab icon our web site home page. I have always said our listeners are our most important asset and over the years your contributions have made it so much easier to present the music you enjoy most of all. Clearly we are never going to please all of you all the time, however that's what we strive to do.
Meet the Team: Brooke Richards
I grew up and still reside in the Blue Mountains. The commute to Pyrmont each day is insane, but nothing beats coming home to the peacefulness after a (somewhat!) hectic day.
The Sisters of Charity Foundation
It's a sad fact, but there are around 18,000 young people in NSW who can't live at home through no fault of their own. Their parents have passed away, have severe mental illness or they're victims of abuse at home.
The Sisters of Charity Foundation Tertiary Scholarship Program is aimed at helping young people who've lived in foster care to study, go to university, and to go on to fulfilling careers.
Mardi Cole's 9 O'Clock special
Just a brief note from me, Mardi Cole, to let you know that I’m back on 2CH weekday evenings from 6pm to midnight and I'd love to have your company. One of the highlights of the shift for me is presenting The 9 O'Clock Special. This hour show puts the spotlight on a different musical singer or group each night, though occasionally, we present a show that has a certain theme running through it. Click on 'read more' to find out about the artists I'll be featuring in upcoming specials.
2CH Artist of the Month: Damien Leith
Damien Leith was crowned the 2006 winner of the TV talent show 'Australian Idol'. With brilliant performances throughout the TV series he was voted the most popular by Australian audiences and his first single released after the win went straight to Number 1 on the charts. It was a beautiful, soaring ballad called 'Night of My Life' and was accompanied by a CD/DVD called 'The Winner's Journey', featuring all his Idol performances and two original songs. It too went to Number 1.
Now in its 60th year, Achieve Australia is a not-for-profit community business that supports over 550 people with disability across accommodation, employment and day programs on the basis of achieving social inclusion. By the end of 2012, we plan to commence a respite service.
Achieve Employment is a branch of Achieve Australia and supports people with disability, injury or health condition to find and keep paid employment, as well broaden their educational experiences and qualifications. We have been assisting people with disability to achieve their dreams of having a sustainable job in the open workplace for over 20 years.

Garden Notes with Graham Ross
This is always a magical time of the year thanks to the beautiful autumn colours. Take some time to walk through the amazing parks and gardens around Sydney and enjoy this once-a-year sight. May is an odd month in the garden, there isn't much in flower except for the grevilleas and the camellias and it appears there is little to do but it can be deceiving.
