Mardi Cole

Mardi Cole hosts the 2CH Evening Show from 6pm to midnight Monday to Friday and is often heard on weekends too.

She has been working in commercial radio for over 20 years, starting her career in Melbourne. After working at a variety of music based radio stations around Australia, she came to 2CH in 2006 as a casual presenter and eventually became a permanent part of the station roster.

Since then, Mardi has hosted both the 2CH breakfast and drive-time shows before moving onto nights last year. These days, she also has a hand in programming the station’s music. Mardi says “The thing I like most about 2CH is the huge variety of songs we play from so many different eras and styles. It’s the thing that makes 2CH stand out from the crowd and the reason that we have listeners that listen the longest to us, compared to other Sydney radio stations.”

Mardi’s favourite part of her show is “The 9 O’Clock Special”. It’s where she gets to choose the featured artist or theme and the songs that are spotlighted. It can be anything from an hour on the Beach Boys or Barbra Streisand to Instrumental hits or Novelty songs.

A busy mum away from her radio work, Mardi has two children aged 14 and 9 who, she is happy to say, “know every song on 2CH”, though they probably don’t tell their friends.
