We had a great reaction to our Johnny Mathis Stress Free Weekend so I thought I'd remind you of the CD we highlighted and gave away. It was a 2 CD set titled 'IT'S NOT FOR ME TO SAY - THE BEST OF JOHNNY MATHIS' released by Sony Music. It has 36 beautiful songs from Johnny, many of which have been hard to find, until now.Our recent Broadway Musicals Stress Free Weekend featured a double CD called 'THE ESSENTIAL BROADWAY'. Just released by Sony Music, it has original cast recordings of shows like Guys & Dolls, West Side Story, Gypsy, The Producers, Camelot, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly and many more. Some of the highlights are Carol Channing, the original Dolly Levi, from the first Broadway production of 'Hello, Dolly!' in 1964; Mary Martin from the first Broadway production of 'The Sound Of Music' in 1959; the original 1979 Broadway cast of 'A Chorus Line' performing 'One'. If you love musicals, you'll find something to love on this double CD.
We recently featured a new Burt Bacharach 3 CD set called 'MAGIC MOMENTS - THE DEFINITIVE BURT BACHARACH COLLECTION' from Warner Music that has some truly memorable songs on it. The set has 75 original tracks by one of the most successful songwriters of all time. It features Dionne Warwick, Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Bobbie Gentry and many more.
And we often have listeners asking us if they can buy our 2CH music on CD. Unfortunately, 2CH has so many songs on our playlist from so many different artists that it couldn't possibly all be released. However, we recently featured a 3CD set called 'THE VERY BEST OF MUSIC TO WATCH GIRLS BY' from Sony Music that has 60 songs, all big hits of the 50's and 60's and virtually all played on our station.
