Back by popular demand: Celtic Thunder
By popular demand, international music phenomenon Celtic Thunder is returning to Sydney at Allphones Arena on Saturday, February 2, 2013.
This world-renowned musical ensemble has even had the honour of performing for President Obama at the White House in 2009. The group are just about to embark on their fifth tour of the US this September before returning to Australia to wow their audiences again.
“We had so much fun earlier this year, we can’t wait to come back. Next year’s tour is going to be even bigger and better!” said Celtic Thunder’s Keith Harkin. “There’s songs that appeal to people who know Celtic music but most people just come along for the music itself” he continued.
Formed in 2008, Celtic Thunder has celebrated worldwide sales approaching 2 million units and have a string of platinum and double platinum discs, with their recent DVD release ‘The Show’ having just gone triple platinum in Australia.
This year they have gone on to become Universal Music Australia’s highest selling artist on DVD for 2012.
Globally they’ve sold over half a million concert tickets and their official YouTube channel ‘Thunder Tube’ has received over 28 million views since its inception in 2008 .
