The big news around the corridors of 2CH this month is the arrival of our latest presenter and he's someone who has been in lots of radio studios over a stellar entertainment career, but only as a guest, never to present his own show.
Of course we're talking about Aussie music legend Col Joye AM who is currently behind the microphone from 5pm until 6pm every weekday on 2CH, featuring the music of the fifties and sixties in "5 O'Clock Rock with Col Joye".
A pioneer on the Australian music charts, Col was the first Australian to reach Number One nationally with Bye Bye Baby in the late fifties. The following singles, Rockin Rollin Clementine and Oh Yeah Uh Huh, made him the first to have 3 consecutive #1 hits nationally. He was also the first Australian to make an impact on the American Billboard charts.
Col says, "Guest hosting on 2CH is another step on the ladder of my life. There are so many anecdotes from a time when my career was in full swing, we'll have a lot to talk about and it will be fun to "Remember When"!"
There's music and plenty of yarns to spin on "5 O'Clock Rock with Col Joye" from 5pm-6pm Monday to Friday on 2CH 1170 for the next few weeks.
